Thaleya Skye Walker: A Dual Dynamo Defying Boundaries

 

At just 13 years old, Thaleya Skye Walker, affectionately known as the "Mexican Messi," is carving her path to greatness as a 5th Generation Skier and a soccer prodigy, showcasing unparalleled versatility and skill in both disciplines.

 

Ski Racing Sensation:

 

Thaleya's skiing journey began at 16 months old in the mountains outside Los Angeles, California. Relocating to Lake Tahoe, Nevada, her family sought the most competitive environment possible, propelling her to become a 2X FarWest GS Champion, 2X FarWest SG Champion, FarWest SL Champion, and 2X FarWest Alpine Overall Champion. Thaleya's remarkable journey includes being named to the U.S. Western Region Ski Team, surviving a harrowing collision to comeback and win the FarWest Championship GS Title, and consistently dominating the field, ranking among the top 10 U14 female ski racers in the nation.

 

Beyond personal victories, Thaleya carries on a family ski legacy dating back to her great-great-grandfather and her great-grandfather, a ski pioneer in Utah almost a century ago. She blends tradition with her own indomitable spirit, soaring to new heights on the slopes.

 

Soccer Sensation:

 

Thaleya's soccer journey is equally impressive. Breaking barriers, she fought for and secured a spot on a boys' roster, playing a year up in the boys' division. Her accomplishments include playing in the ECNL league on a top NorCal girls' team, finishing 2nd in the prestigious Surf Cup against the #1 ranked 2010 girls' team in the country. Finishing 2nd again as the only girl on the 2010 boys BBFC team that competed in the Los Angeles ALLIANZA CUP. Thaleya was also the Golden Boot at the 2022 Mayors Cup in Las Vegas in the 2010 Boys division.

 

National recognition followed with selection to the NorCal PDP Player Development Program and iD2 National Selection events for USYNT U14 identification. Thaleya will have a global impact as she was also selected to I.P.A. International Prospect Academy 1 of 16 out of 290 athletes selected to compete against professional academies in Europe.

 

A starter on every team she joins, Thaleya plays with Battleborn FC 2010 Boys and Truckee River United 2007 Girls, fearlessly competing three years up in the NPL.
